Jaguar in (more) trouble?

Both Reuters and BBC News reported today that Ford Motor is considering selling Jaguar's historic Brown's Lane factory near Coventry, England.
Unconfirmed reports suggest that Ford plans to cut Jaguar production by 6-7 percent in 2006 due to slow sales. The company cut 1,150 Jaguar jobs in England last year, and shifted Browns Lane output to another factory. At the same time, Jaguar cut production by 15,000 units.

The Brown's Lane site is Jaguar's world headquarters, with about 150 administrative staff on-site. The company's famous heritage center is also located here.

Production of XJ and XK models at Brown's Lane ended in July, and only 400 manufacturing staff remain, producing interior trim.
