You know, every year I swar to myself it's the last time I'll go to the NAIAS until they move from Cobo.
Why you ask?
Well for one, parking sucks. You typically have to walk quite a distance or take a shuttle in the freezing cold to make it to Cobo, only to have your pants soiled in Detroit slush and shoes half soaked in the same.
The event for plebians like myself is completely over crowded. You have Ed, Jimbob, Luke and Rick all boxing you out of view of the new Camaro, the Ford Cobra, or anything else on four wheels. When you do get up close enough for a nice view, Rick and Luke's girlfriends from Roseville slide in front of you with the 6 inch long skyhigh bangs, obstructing any pictures you want to take.
Oh and then there's the 8 year old feral children that somehow slide into the drivers seat of every car at the show - coincidently right before its your turn to imagine you're in the streets and not surrounded by 10 other impatient people waiting for a crack at (insert vehicle name here). On a sidenote, I take no issue with kids at the show. It's when parents don't do anything to let them know of the unspoken time limit (about 45 seconds to a minute) and they sit there forever making revving noises and trying to rip off the shift knob.
Finally there's the lack of anything to consume besides Mackinac Island Fudge. If it weren't for the fudge I don't think I'd ever come back...but besides that, you get stuck overpaying for cold hot dogs and stale chips. I swear to you, the first auto company to open up a nice sit down restaraunt at the show with complimentary snacks wins my money the next time I'm in need of a new car.
To conclude, I would be completely content reading Autoblog's reports on the show. Though I live less than 20 minutes away from the heart of the city, I think Autoblog's coverage is far superior to anything you'd see up close and in person...because even in person doesn't guarentee up close. Unfortunately as a native Detroiter, we are all bound by a code to attend at least one miserable night at Cobo to see the vehicles we discuss in these forums. Anyone want me to bring them back any fudge?

The Camero Concept looks pretty much like the Ford Mustang car that has been on the road for over a year now!! What's the big difference that gonna make people want this Chevy over the Ford??
The Challenger is better looking than both anyhow!!!!

What are you on DOPE? The Camaro concept looks NOTHING like the Mustang. It does however look like the Challenger. I mean get real that's the dumbest and most obviously wrong comment I've ever read on Autoblog.
Can I get some of what you're smoking because obviously it's some bomb shit.

This is for "rw" on your comment about the Preparation H. I'm glad to see that some of us on here have a great sense of humor. Your reply to the lotion on the Camry seats was so funny that I almost shit my pants!
Wouldn't it be great to have that Butt Stuff available on all makes of cars? BTW...Camaro's are STILL "The Bomb".
