General Motors is responding to demand across the board for the products at its Detroit-Hamtramck factory, adding a second shift and hiring over 1,200.

The 2016 Cadillac ELR will offer a 25 percent power boost compared to the 2014 model thanks to improved electronics and some physical upgrades.
