R2-D2 versus the Scion t2B

Every time I hear the t2B name, I immediately think of some minor droid character from the Star Wars series that had no bearing on the story but I still had an action figure of it when I was growing up (can you really call it an "action figure" if it had no actions in the movies?). When I though about it, the t2B was ripe for comparison to the most famous droid, R2-D2, and went ahead with a silly comparison that also put you more in the know about the concept from Scion.

R2-D2 is an Astromech Droid generally used for the maintenance and repair of starships.
The t2B is Scion?s 2005 concept unveiled at the New York Auto Show to show a possible styling direction of the xB replacement.

R2-D2 stands for ?Reel two, Dialogue two?, something George Lucas took from filming American Graffiti. It really has nothing to do with the actual droid.
t2B stands for Tall Two-Box, meaning the shape is two boxes and it?s tall.

R2-D2 communicates with a series of electronic bleeps.
The t2B communicates using an asymmetrical tri-level instrument panel that features a large information ticker, which provides access to movies, games and music via internet downloads.

R2-D2 is 37.8 inches tall
The t2B is 70.5 inches tall

t2b vs artoo

R2-D2 can seat one 3 foot 8 inch tall midget uncomfortably
The t2B can seat 4 adults comfortably.

R2-D2 is powered by electronic motors and Kenny Baker (the uncomfortable 3'8" guy).
The t2B is powered by a 2.4-liter four-cylinder engine.

t2b vs artooR2-D2 has a holographic projector built into his head to display messages. Especially helpful when the universe is at stake.
The t2B has a video projector built into its headliner to display movies, games or screen savers on the rear glass. Especially helpful when the universe is at stake in a PS2/Xbox/Gamecube game.

R2-D2 has one optical sensor.
The t2B has one fog light.

R2-D2 can deploy a third leg (grow up!) to aid in mobility.
The t2B has a third suicide door (I like that Scion didn?t shy from calling it a suicide door instead of the more PC, ?clamshell?) on the driver?s side to aid in docking/deployment of passengers.
