Harley plans to limit motorcycle models, colors it ships to U.S. dealers
The U.S. motorcycle maker, which closed its U.S. assembly plants in March due to the coronavirus outbreak, may not ship any additional new motorcycles this year to about 70% of its 698 dealers in the country, the report said. The cash preservation plan lifted Harley shares, which have lost nearly half of its value so far this year, up 9% in premarket trading. Earlier this month, the motorcycle maker pulled its 2020 profit forecast and decided to temporarily lay off most of its global production employees as well as cut salaries of its leadership team in a bid to lower costs. On Tuesday, Harley said it would cut cost to match the lower demand and focus more on sales efforts in the United States, its biggest market.

Harley-Davidson CEO to leave struggling motorcycle company
Harley-Davidson CEO Matthew Levatich is leaving the struggling motorcycle maker. The Milwaukee company announced Friday that Levatich will leave his post and seat on Harley's board of directors. Board member Jochen Zeitz will become acting president and CEO while a board search committee is formed and Harley hires an outside search firm to fill the job.

Harley-Davidson trims profit forecast as sales slide in second quarter
Harley-Davidson Inc on Tuesday trimmed guidance for shipments of its motorcycles in 2019 after worldwide sales in the second quarter slumped, hurt by higher tariff costs as well as weak demand in the United States. The Milwaukee, Wisconsin-based company now expects to ship about 212,000 to 217,000 bikes in 2019. Operating margin in the motorcycles segment, or how much profit the company makes per dollar of sales after accounting for production costs, was also revised down.
