Overview
The 2027 Cadillac Escalade is a full-size luxury SUV built on GM’s GMT T1XX full-size truck ladder-frame chassis, also shared with other large GM SUVs such as the Chevy Tahoe and Suburban. It’s available in a regular and long-body ESV style, with three rows and seating for up to eight passengers. RWD, AWD, and 4WD drivetrain configurations are available, and the 6.2-liter gas V8 puts out 420 hp – or 682 hp in the supercharged Escalade-V, which we review separately.

What’s New for 2027
The 2027 Escalade is now in its 7th model year. There won’t be any changes for the new model year, and the 2027 Cadillac Escalade’s price is expected to remain more or less the same, starting at around $91K.
Exterior
Unmistakable Escalade styling cues include the huge grille, vertically stacked LED headlights, upright stance, and sheer size. Luxury and Platinum trims get chrome, while Sport trims have blacked-out exterior trim. Standard wheels measure 22 inches, but enormous 24-inch hoops are available. The regular Escalade measures nearly 212 inches long on a 121-inch wheelbase, but the ESV stretches to about 227 inches on a 134-inch wheelbase.
Interior
The cabin is tech-forward, with a vast 55 inches of OLED display real estate, integrating the gauge cluster, touchscreen, and passenger display in a single full-width unit. Features such as wireless Apple CarPlay and Android Auto are standard, alongside a 21-speaker AKG audio system, but a 38-speaker setup is standard at the top of the range.
Inteluxe leatherette features on the base trim, with leather and quilted semi-aniline leather appearing higher up the trim ladder. A heated power-adjustable steering wheel, heated power front seats, and heated outboard 2nd-row seats are standard, and trims above base also get front-seat ventilation. Head- and legroom are abundant in the first two rows, and even the third row comfortably accommodates adults. The Executive Second Row package adds ventilated, massaging 2nd-row captain’s chairs and a rear center touchscreen.

Performance and 0-60 MPH
The standard 420-hp V8 is punchy enough to get the heavy SUV to 60 MPH in around 6.0 to 6.7 seconds, depending on the trim, drivetrain, and as-tested weight, with the flat torque curve and slick 10-speed auto keeping it bowling along nicely. The 682-hp Escalade-V drops that time to a rapid 4.3 to 4.7 seconds.

Pros and Cons
Pros:
- Powerful standard V8, with supercharged V-Series available
- 55-inch curved OLED display
- Spacious 3-row cabin with premium materials
- Strong towing capability
Cons:
- Heavy on fuel
- Upper trims exceed $120,000
- Base trim gets leatherette
- Large and unwieldy in urban confines
Verdict
The Cadillac Escalade is the very definition of the all-American body-on-frame luxury SUV, and comes with a choice of potent V8 and excellent towing credentials. The cabin is genuinely spacious, with an adult-friendly third row, especially in the ESV. Cargo space is exceptional, and even with the 3rd row in use, you can get more than 40 cubes into the ESV. Prices climb quickly as you progress through the trims, but if you’re already spending more than a hundred grand on a luxury SUV, you may as well go for the Platinum Luxury, which lacks for nothing.
