Although Barrett-Jackson is now viewed as primarily a muscle car auction by most spectators, there was a time when European and American classics were their bread and butter lots. And if you scan the current catalog carefully you'll still see vestigial evidence of those days. In fact, several Euro classics are positioned in the featured tent, within spitting distance of the Mopars, Chevies, and Fords.

A special Lexus 400h design concept that was built to support Paul McCartney's 2005 U.S. tour is Lot 1547 this Sunday at the Barrett-Jackson auction. The car's theme is designed and hand-painted to reflect his famous 1962 Hofner bass guitar and Vox AC30 amp. Sure we already told you about the top ten overall, but this is kind of special. Starting with the gorgeous red 1958 Ferr
Matt Rigney did it again. Just like last year, Matt went through the catalog for the upcoming Barrett-Jackson auction and found all of the Mustangs (and Cobras) for his website, Mustang Heaven. Recognizing how tedious it was to search the entire six days worth of lots for his beloved 'Stangs, Rigney went through and collected the links for each one and consolidated them into one list available on his site. More than one hun
The Ford GT was such an awesome car. Still is, but we use the past tense here to denote the recent completion of its production run. Mr. Top Gear himself, Jeremy Clarkson has made this car into somewhat of a legend among legends by documenting all the travails he's experienced with his personal GT. More so than the Corvette (even the vaunted Z06) or Viper, the Ford GT is the
CNN's Baghdad battlecruiser, the Warrior One, will be going up for bid at January's Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale to raise money for the Fisher House Foundation. The well-known Hummer H1 was purchased at a Kuwaiti dealership and used during 2003 by CNN while they were embedded with the First Battalion, 7th Marines during the war. The crew came under heavy fire near Baghdad in April of that year while driving the vehicle.
Mention Barrett-Jackson auctions to most enthusiasts and the first thing that will pop into their heads will probably be muscle cars. American iron from the '60s and '70s dominates the typical catalog. Chevelles, 'Cudas, Vettes, and Mustangs that are so rare and in such good condition that the million dollar winning bids seem almost a bargain. Sure, there are the occasional European sports cars sprinkled in, and European and American pre- and post-war classics still command strong money. But mus
